Last updated: August 28, 2026.

Who controls the data

GoNearMe is responsible for the processing described in this policy. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to [email protected].

Information we process

Browser location, only when requestedIf you choose “Use my location,” your browser asks for permission and provides coordinates to the page so it can calculate nearby matches.
Technical request dataHosting and security systems may process IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamps and security signals needed to deliver and protect the site.
Messages you sendIf you email us, we process the address and content you provide so we can answer the request or correction.
External-service activityGoogle Maps, booking sites and venue websites receive data only when you choose to open their links, subject to their own policies.

How location permission works

Location access is optional. GoNearMe uses the coordinates inside your browser to calculate an approximate distance to featured places. The page does not write those coordinates to the WordPress database or include them in the page URL. You can refuse permission and choose a city or neighborhood manually.

Privacy by default: location permission is requested only after you press the location button. It is not required to read a ranking.

Purposes and legal grounds

  • Provide the nearby-place feature when you ask for it, based on your permission.
  • Deliver, secure and troubleshoot the website using the minimum technical data reasonably necessary for those purposes.
  • Respond to messages, correction reports and privacy requests.
  • Meet legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of users, GoNearMe and others.

Cookies and analytics

GoNearMe does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party behavioral analytics on public pages. Essential hosting, security or logged-in WordPress functions may use limited technical storage. Read the cookie policy for the current categories and our rule for adding analytics later.

Sharing, sale and retention

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Technical data may be processed by infrastructure providers that host, deliver or secure the site. Data is kept only as long as reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting, responding to a request, or legal obligations; retention is also governed by the relevant provider settings.

International processing

Infrastructure and linked services may process data in countries different from yours. Where applicable, we use provider terms and safeguards intended to support lawful transfers.

Your choices and rights

You may deny or revoke browser location permission, manage cookies and ask to access, correct or delete personal information that GoNearMe controls. Depending on where you live, additional rights may apply, including objection, restriction, portability, non-discrimination and the right to complain to a privacy regulator. See Privacy choices for practical instructions.

Children

GoNearMe is a general local-discovery website and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new update date. We will not use previously collected information for a materially incompatible purpose without an appropriate legal basis or notice.
